What a cracker this bed was - and still is I believe! We bought it in Toowoomba, back in late 2012, when we moved to Texas QLD, albeit briefly. It then went back to Malaysia with us in 2013, to Barooga in 2016, and that's where we parted ways.
It was a super-king sized bed, which meant that all five of us could fit across its width! When wifey and I were each on our side we could barely touch each other when reaching out. It was not easy (nor cheap) to get bedlinen for, difficult to move around, and needed a big bedroom! But it was super comfortable, and I have fond memories of it.
We sold it to Donnie and Kyllie's parents, who ended up buying most of our furniture from Arramagong St, before we moved to Kupang. So it's in good hands, and hey I could even visit it if I wanted to haha. Just being corny there.
Actually, that bed also represents the end of an era. Firstly in Kupang, and then in Sungai Pelek, we slept in beds that we would likely never choose if we'd had the choice. The Kupang one was ok I guess, but the SP one was awful! Yet we got used to it, and in the end had no problem sleeping in a crappy quality bed, on a terrible mattress.
So when we came back to Oz this time around, we set our sights at the lower end of the spectrum, and essentially bought the cheapest frame and mattress we could find. And you know what? It's super to sleep on.
It's amazing how circumstance can open ones eyes somewhat, and change a preconceived idea for the better. I'm pleased with the outcome, as it will save us plenty of money in the long-term. But I will always look back fondly on our old super king bed.
