Word Of The Day

So I was writing another post this morning, and doing some research on it, when I stumbled across this word. I had seen it before, and largely understood it, but looked it up all the same, to ensure I was fully across the meaning:

I think this is a cool word. It's wonderful to be able to colour one's writing or speech with interesting adjectives. A few of us at work talk about the importance of being able to write and speak well, and I am proud to be one of those considered skilled in these arts. Actually, just a couple of weeks ago, I had to give a speech at the beginning of an Emerging Leaders course, for up-and-coming managers/supervisors in our business. I prepared a little, but largely ad-libbed it. I was nervous that it was a pile of crap, but got very good feedback from both management and participants. I was very pleased about that. Protecting and nurturing our future leaders is something that is very important to me.
